Few brands in the world can count more than 110 years of history and even fewer can proudly claim such a heritage of innovation, manufacturing skill, culture and inspiration.

New Balance owes its inception to an original idea by an American called William J. Riley. In 1906, while watching the movement of the poultry in his yard, Riley came to the conclusion that what was missing from the footwear of his time was a three-point arch support that would assure comfort and support while walking.

The brand quickly earned a reputation and grew to prominence, with its first global success coming in 1976 when its legendary 320 model was designated top running shoe by Runner’s World Magazine. Since then, New Balance’s running shoes have been on thousands of magazine covers, with their groundbreaking innovation ranking them top of the list for runners around the world.
